Worst ever footballers’ tattoos
Tattoos have continued to grow in popularity throughout recent years, and in the world of football, it’s no different.
In the current climate, it’s almost impossible to find a high level match across Europe’s top divisions that doesn’t feature at least one player showcasing plenty of ink on their body.
With so much money involved with players in the top divisions, such as the Premier League, those involved have more funds than to know what to do with.
This can lead to plenty of wrong-doings or off-the-field incidents, but some simply go too far when it comes to getting inked up.
Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane is the latest to showcase a unique tattoo.
During a recent performance he showed off a portrait of himself scoring for Man City on his own back!

So, after Sane revealed his latest inking, FootyOn writers look over five of the worst ever footballers’ tattoos. Enjoy!
A handgun, a grenade, a flick-knife and a rifle on your side doesn’t exactly scream role model footballer, and Bothroyd’s ink understandably caused plenty of outrage.
Ex-Italy international and former AC Milan midfielder Nocerino is enjoying life in sunny America with MLS side Orlando City these days, but he is likely to be keeping his shirt on to hide some unfortunate ink.
The midfielder may be on the receiving end of some stick from his teammates as he possesses his surname on the lower regions of his back. Yes, ladies and gentleman, a tramp stamp.
Daniele De Rossi
Another Italian features next on our list, this time being Roma midfield enforcer De Rossi, with the aggressive tackler having had a bizarre warning sign tattooed on the back of his calf.
The Azzurri central midfielder’s ink represents him going in for a strong challenge, something he has become famed for in his career. It’s a poor effort, but we won’t be the ones to tell him!
De Rossi is actually available on a free transfer this summer, so could he soon be showing his ink off in the Premier League?
One of the most controversial players in England in recent years, former Newcastle United misfit Ranger added some ink a crazy spot on his body.
In case people were to forget his name, which is in fact likely in this case, Ranger had his surname inked across the side of his face!
Last on our list of the worst ever footballers’ tattoos and unquestionably the most horrific comes from the skin of former Celtic and Southampton goalkeeper Boruc.
The Bournemouth shot-stopper has a monkey inked onto his belly button, with the animal bent over in an explicit position. His bizarre ink is the undisputed number one!
