Laurent Blanc bets and Sam Allardyce odds among next USA manager tips
FootyOn give their next USA manager tips after Bruce Arena stands down, with Laurent Blanc bets and Sam Allardyce odds at the head of the betting.
A shock failure by the Stars and Stripes to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia has prompted changes.
Two-time USA boss Arena has left his post as national coach and, if the betting is any indicator, his successor will be a foreign manager.
So, who is in the frame to take the United States men’s soccer side forward?
Here are our next USA manager tips based on BetVictor‘s betting market…
Blanc bets look solid
Former Bordeaux, France and PSG boss Blanc is a front-runner for the Stars and Stripes.
A 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 winner with Les Bleus, the former centre back then steered them to the Euro 2012 quarter-finals.
Blanc also has four Ligue 1 titles on his coaching CV, so is proven in the dugout.
Appointing a 1990s football hero is something the United States have done before with Arena’s predecessor, Jurgen Klinsmann.
Blanc bets make him a market principal for the Stars and Stripes hotseat at 4/1.
Allardyce odds backed
The USA vacancy is of interest to one-time England boss Allardyce.
Big Sam has not ruled out returning to management with another national side, so this fits the bill.
It is difficult to judge him on a sole game in charge of the Three Lions, but his Premier League experience speaks for itself.
Allardyce odds have halved in the betting into 4/1 joint-favourite for this role.
Current Stars and Stripes full back DeAndre Yedlin played under Allardyce on loan at Sunderland when he kept them up in 2015/16.
Berhalter, Porter, Vermes options from MLS
A number of Major League Soccer coaches will doubtless come under consideration for the United States national job too.
Former Crystal Palace player Gregg Berhalter is an MLS Cup winning manager with current club Columbus Crew.
He is 12/1 in the next Stars and Stripes boss betting alongside Portland Timbers counterpart Caleb Porter.
The most-fancied of the domestic options at this stage, however, is Sporting Kansas City coach Peter Vermes at 6/1.
