Two of international football’s biggest rivals Germany and England face off in a friendly on March 22nd, which got FootyOn writers thinking.

How many German footballers have played in the Premier League era? And who are they?

In answer to the first question, exactly 50 with German nationality have plied their trade in England’s top division since the 1992/93 season.

So, test your knowledge further by trying out our German Premier League footballers quiz, and naming them!

Take a breath, limber up your quizzing fingers and switch on your footballing brain to name all 50 footballers:

German footballers have been synonymous in playing in English leagues, ever since the likes of legendary Manchester City keeper Bert Trautmann carved out a career after World War II.

But we have gone through the years since the Premier League started in 1992/93 in search of them.

And, to give you a bit of a help, we have given hints to the left of the answers which clubs they played for.

We’ve put them in alphabetical order and you only need to type in their surnames (some are admittedly difficult to spell).

So, how many of them do you think you remember?

You’ll be against the clock, though, with 10 minutes to complete the list.

Don’t dwell too long on ones you are unsure of – and most importantly, don’t be tempted to search up the answers and cheat!
